Teaching and Learning Committee
What is a Teaching and Learning Committee?
A Teaching and Learning Committee (KLS or LuSt) is a student co-determination body. Pursuant to § 22 of the Statutes of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the students account for half of the seats and votes. Other members include university teachers and academic staff. There is a KLS at each Faculty, as a permanent commission of the Faculty Board.
At the Faculty of Life Sciences, there is also one KLS for each subject at the departmental level as a permanent commission of the departmental boards.
What tasks does a Teaching and Learning Committee have?
Pursuant to § 22 of the Statutes of Humboldt-Universität:
- Advisory services in all fundamental matters of study and teaching of the Faculty/Department
- Decisions on the drafts of study and examination regulations
- Decisions on the draft of the course report of the Faculty/Department
- Participation in drafting appraisals on appointment proceedings relating to university didactic activities
- Evaluation
