Course description:

This is a two day workshop, oriented toward experimental scientists, especially in the life sciences. It has three major components:

1) what it takes to do experimental science to a high professional standard;

2) what is involved in doing science ethically, and

3) the basics of the philosophy of science and how one’s views of that philosophy shape both the kind and quality of science one does.

A major aim of the workshop is to show how these seemingly very different aspects are entwined and influence each other.
