A2 Localized surface plasmons for bioanalytical applications

Challenges: What is the local field enhancement of coupled plasmonic nanostructures? Can we improve and modify the signals from local polarity probes using plasmonic nanoparticles?  Can we use the enhancement for label-free detection of biomolecules in vivo?

Objectives: Plasmonic nanostructures will be modeled, designed, characterized, functionalized, and applied to detect and investigate biomolecules in complex environments and to study their structure and interactions. To achieve this, projects range from basic plasmonics over biochemistry to targeting studies in live cells.
