Science Communication and Generative AI: How to gain digital visibility and use GenAI responsibly

Science today moves fast. Whether you’re sharing results, writing papers, posting on LinkedIn, or navigating new GenAI tools, your ability to keep up with these changes matters more than ever. To support you on this journey, the Center for Career Development is launching free Monthly SciComm and GenAI Consultation Hours starting May 2026. These sessions are designed especially for early career researchers in the natural sciences who want to become more visible, stay informed, and build communication and GenAI skills that actually make a difference.

The workshop session will inform you about GenAI and related tools and give you hands-on tips on how to use social media like LinkedIn responsibly.

Monthly Drop-In

The consultation format

We’re here to support you—whether you're refining your first outreach idea, making sense of AI tools, or building your professional presence.

Our free Monthly SciComm and AI Consultation Hours are designed especially for early-career researchers in the natural sciences who want to become more visible, stay informed, and build communication and AI skills that actually make a difference. Each month, you can book a 20-minute 1:1 slot (if available, also longer) with our experienced SciComm trainer—someone who understands both the challenges and the exciting opportunities facing researchers today.

In your session, you can get tips on:

  • shaping a strong online profile,
  • sharing your research in clear, relatable ways,
  • joining active science and science-policy discussions,
  • how to use AI to improve clarity, structure, and storytelling,
  • and connecting with peers, mentors and international communities.

What We Can Talk About

Anything related to communicating your science or using AI, including:

  • writing clearer SciComm texts of all types,
  • preparing for talks or interviews,
  • structuring outreach ideas,
  • using AI tools safely and effectively in writing, reading, or planning
  • evaluating AI outputs for quality, bias, and reliability
  • finding tools that streamline small parts of your workflow
