Die Fakultät hat sich mit Beschluss des Fakultätsrats vom 3. Juni 2024 der Stellungnahme des Instituts für Sozialwissenschaften angeschlossen.
By resolution of the Faculty Board on June 3, 2024, the Faculty endorsed the statement of the Institute of Social Sciences.
Stellungnahme zur Besetzung des Instituts für Sozialwissenschaften durch pro-palästinensische Protestgruppen am 22./23. Mai 2024
Wir verurteilen auf das Schärfste die Verwendung antisemitischer Symbolik – u.a. der Terrororganisation Hamas – sowie den gewaltvollen Vandalismus, der im Zuge der Besetzung am 22. und 23. Mai 2024 in unserem Institut ausgeübt wurde. Wir sind dem Grundrecht auf Meinungs- und Versammlungsfreiheit verpflichtet, stehen für ein gewalt- und repressionsfreies Miteinander und unterstützen Deeskalation und die Öffnung von Dialogräumen. Unser Institut ist und bleibt ein Ort für demokratischen, pluralistischen Austausch. Wir werden keinesfalls zulassen, dass in unseren Räumen Antisemitismus, Rassismus und andere Formen von Diskriminierung oder irgendeine Form von Gewalt Platz finden, und treten dem mit aller Entschlossenheit entgegen.
Wir bedauern sehr die vielfältigen Belastungen, die unsere Mitarbeitenden und Studierenden durch die Besetzung und Räumung erfahren haben.
Statement on the occupation of the Institute of Social Sciences by pro-Palestinian protest groups on 22nd/23rd May 2024
We strongly condemn the use of anti-Semitic symbolism - including by the terrorist organization Hamas - as well as the violent vandalism that occurred at our institute during the occupation on May 22nd and 23rd, 2024. We are committed to the fundamental right to freedom of expression and assembly, stand for a coexistence free of violence and repression, and support de-escalation and the opening of dialogue spaces. Our institute is and remains a place for democratic, pluralistic exchange. We will under no circumstances allow anti-Semitism, racism, and any other forms of discrimination or violence to enter our spaces and will oppose this with all our determination.
We very much regret the many burdens that our colleagues and students have experienced as a result of the occupation and eviction.
