Networking opportunities for doctoral candidates in Germany

Networking opportunities at the Departments

The Departments at the Faculty of Humanities host events and provide services for their doctoral students.

The website of the Department of History provides information on current and completed doctoral projects, as does the website of the Department for Library and Information Science.

The website of the Department of Philosophy also provides a platform for the projects of their doctoral candidates as well as for organising a mailing list.

The Department of European Ethnology has its own website for their doctoral candidates, where you can find information on current and completed doctoral projects as well as all events hosted for doctoral candidates. More specifically, the Department organises a doctoral colloquium once per semester. On the ground floor of the building at Mohrenstraße 41, 10117 Berlin, there are workspaces available for doctoral candidates. The department also has its own guidelines (in German) on how to successfully organise your doctoral studies at the department.

HU-Docs

HU-Docs is the interdisciplinary network of doctoral candidates at Humboldt-Universität. They represent the interests of doctoral candidates in cooperation with the University. HU-Docs hosts a monthly meet-up for the purposes of networking, offering support and exchanging experiences with other doctoral students. On top of that, they also organise a cultural programme.
