How does the brain work? How does it control the way we think, learn, and remember? What constitutes both biological and artificial intelligence? How should intelligent technology be developed? These are the questions that scientists at the Faculty of Life Sciences are asking. Together with their cooperation partners, they have developed Berlin into an internationally recognized location for cutting-edge neuroscientific research in recent years.

How can access to safe, healthy and sustainable food be ensured for some 9 billion people in the future? How can the dramatic loss of biodiversity and increasing inequality be counteracted? How is social cohesion linked to vulnerabilities in food systems and nutrition-related health issues?

Scientists at the Faculty of Life Sciences develop interdisciplinary strategies to make our habitat sustainable.
