WINS Postdoctoral Fellowships
WINS Adlershof and the PostDoc Center Adlershof are pleased to offer six fellowships to visiting female postdoctoral researchers. Sponsored by the Einstein Stiftung in cooperation with the Berlin University Alliance and the Berliner Chancengleichheitsprogramm, these fellowships provide opportunities for exchange and support the career development of female postdoctoral researchers in an international context. Purpose
Six WINS fellowships are available for female postdoctoral researchers from research institutions or universities abroad who will be invited to come to Berlin for a period of approximately 4 to 6 weeks. These fellowships aim to increase the visibility of female postdoctoral researchers and to facilitate the transition of postdocs to independent scholars.
The criteria for the selection of the fellowships are as follows:
- Potential to strengthen the scientific connections of the fellow and help extend their professional network and/or
- Potential to prepare or start a new collaboration project with HU researchers with the aim of developing novel and innovative research ideas and approaches and/or
- Potential to enhance the skills, knowledge, and career prospects of postdoctoral researchers
Timeline
Deadline for applications: June 7th 2024
Announcement of selected candidates: mid-July 2024
Research visits: October and November 2024
Financial support
The fellowships offer financial support of 4.000 EUR (bulk sum), which can be used by the fellows to cover all expenses during their stay in Berlin, including travel expenses, accommodation and living expenses, conference registration fees, and other related expenses.
Eligibility
Proposals can be submitted by postdocs, group leaders and professors from the five departments of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the HU Berlin, who wish to invite an international female postdoc to visit their research lab in Berlin.
Application
To apply, please submit a single PDF to Petya Jordan (postdoc-center-adlershof.mnf@hu-berlin.de) which includes:
- the PDF form (filled out by the inviting researcher)
- the CV of the candidate
- a short (1/2 page max) motivation letter by the candidate
- a host statement confirming that the invited candidate will be hosted by the HU Berlin
