Postdoc Appreciation Week (19-23. September 2022)

Originating from the US, the Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) happens every year with the aim to increase the visibility and provide opportunities for saying "Thank you!" to postdocs. Postdocs are often doing a tremendous amount of work which doesn't achieve the deserved recognition and the PAW is aiming to change that.

This year, for the first time institutions and postdoc networks all over Germany are joining forces to put together an interesting program celebrating PAW. Many of the online events will be open freely for everyone!

To find out more, follow PAWde on Twitter. For a list of participating organizations, click here. For the full program, click here.

In the framework of the PAW, we cordially invite you to join:

Future WiNS: New Energies for a Sustainable World

7 – 9 December 2022, Erwin Schrödinger Zentrum

“Future WiNS” is an interdisciplinary event which will bring together a community of natural scientists from all fundamental and applied research fields – from mathematics and computer science to biology and engineering – to discuss current challenges in energy research and viable strategies for sustainable solutions.

During a two-day workshop, we will bring to Berlin established researchers and young talents from national and international academic and extra-academic institutions giving keynote presentations in the respective areas. An evening poster session will give the opportunity to all participants, including students, to share their results and ideas in an informal and barrier-free context. In this spirit, we plan a social event open to all participants where topics related to career development and opportunities, professional and personal empowerment, and networking will be discussed in a friendly and cheerful atmosphere.

The local organizers are supported by an interdisciplinary scientific committee including young scientists belonging to the WiNS network. Awardees of the WiNS Fellowships 2022 will be celebrated in this event with an invitation to present their research.
