Doing a PhD in Adlershof
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin offers ideal conditions and framework for a doctorate:
- All subjects of the five departments (chemistry, geography, computer science, mathematics and physics) have a high scientific reputation in Germany and abroad.
- There are close links between the departments and individual research groups in terms of content and structure, such as jointly funded Collaborative Research Centers and Research Training Groups, Integrative Research Institutes, cluster initiatives and bridge professorships.
- The location of the faculty in the Science and Technology Park Berlin-Adlershof offers excellent conditions for cooperation with non-university research institutions and industry.
- The faculty is characterized by close networking with non-university research institutes in the surrounding area and in the entire Berlin-Brandenburg scientific region - including, among others, the The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB), the Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY), the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), and the Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB).
